Wasted resources responding to false alarms
The threat to critical infrastructure from terrorism, vandalism and environmental challenges is something that we cannot afford to ignore, whether it’s to power and fuel, road, rail, air and sea distribution networks or water and agriculture. The challenge remains maintaining the safety of assets that are critical to society and our economy.
But responding to false alarms is an expensive exercise. Sending manned response units, dog patrols, fire crews or even unmanned drones is a drain on resources and may leave other areas vulnerable.
